Joblogic vs Commusoft

Commusoft is a well-made product for plumbing, heating and renewables businesses serving homeowners. Joblogic is built for service contractors running commercial contracts, assets and SLAs. The right answer depends on which of those is your business. This page is how to tell.

The short answer

Commusoft positions itself as plumbing, heating and renewables software, with real strengths in the residential customer relationship: reminders, online booking and customer communication. Joblogic is built for commercial service contractors: SLA management, planned maintenance, asset registers, subcontractor management and native F-Gas compliance are core product, not tier-gated extras. Commusoft does not publish pricing, runs 12-month binding contracts, states it is designed for businesses of six or more staff, gates SLA monitoring to a higher tier, has no F-Gas module, and imports SFG20 one way. Residential-first businesses should evaluate Commusoft seriously. Contractors with maintenance contracts and compliance obligations typically need Joblogic. And only one of the two is building toward an agentic operating system for service contractors.

The money

What it actually costs

Commusoft does not publish prices, so the honest comparison is structural: what is included, what is tier-gated, and what the contract commits you to.

Joblogic: one licence, operational tools included

Published pricing from £45 per licence per month. We don't do monthly contracts; most customers stay for years, and some for decades.

  • Job management, scheduling, quoting, invoicing
  • SLA management and contract billing
  • PPM planner (52-week)
  • Asset registers with QR tagging
  • F-Gas (REFCOM), SFG20, gas certificates
  • Subcontractor portal and customer portal
  • Built-in AI assistant, included as standard

The capability a commercial client expects, in the licence.

Commusoft: the plan ladder

Pricing on request only. Three tiers plus paid add-ons; 12-month binding contracts with full payment on early exit.

  • Go Paperless tier: digitised certificates, job tracking
  • SLA monitoring, commercial contracts, PPM: higher tier (Customer Journey)
  • Mass scheduling, custom security roles: top tier (Automation)
  • Sales+, Fleet+: paid add-ons
  • AI:den+ and Analytics+: "coming soon", paid add-ons
  • Per-user price: not published
  • Every office and field user needs a licence; storage pooled by licence count

The commercial features live at the top of a ladder with no published prices.

Before you sign anything, ask any vendor which tier each feature you need lives in, and what the three-year cost looks like in writing. We will give you ours as part of onboarding.

Setting the record straight

What their content says about us, answered

Commusoft runs a regularly updated roundup article with a dedicated section comparing themselves to Joblogic. Here is each claim against the record.

Their claim Joblogic has "a dated user interface".
The record Judge it yourself in a thirty-minute demo rather than from a competitor's blog. What we would point to: a dashboard designer every role can use, live engineer tracking, and a mobile app our customers' engineers actually adopt, at an 80% rate platform-wide.
Their claim The Joblogic mobile app has "reports of working unreliably in areas of poor connectivity".
The record Offline capability is a fair thing to test, so test it: take both apps into a plant room on the demo. What the record shows is engineers logging jobs from plant rooms and basements every day; Parr FM cut invoicing from 15 minutes per job to about one on data captured in the field.
Their claim Joblogic asset management "comes at an additional price".
The record Asset registers, QR tagging and asset service history are part of the Joblogic platform. Worth noting their own summary table credits Joblogic with an "asset management focus" in the same article.
Their claim Joblogic "lacks powerful automation versus competition".
The record Joblogic automates PPM visit generation across 52-week schedules, customer alerts, timesheet calculation, job costing and invoice workflows, with a built-in AI assistant flagging missed actions and overdue jobs. Their own AI and analytics products are listed as "coming soon" paid add-ons. We are comfortable letting those two sentences sit next to each other.

Where Commusoft is genuinely strong

Credit where due. Commusoft's residential tooling is genuinely good: service reminders, online booking, "on our way" messages and a portal designed around the homeowner relationship. Their offline-first mobile app is credible, and their merchant integrations (Wolseley, City Plumbing, Worcester Bosch) fit how a domestic plumbing and heating business actually buys. If your revenue is mostly homeowners and landlords, shortlist them seriously. If your growth is coming from commercial contracts, their own positioning concedes that ground, and the rest of this page is why contractors choose Joblogic.

Where the platform is going

Everyone is adding AI. The more useful question is what it's built on.

For thirty years, field service software has organised itself around the job. The coordination between jobs, contracts, compliance and cash has been carried by people: in spreadsheets, in inboxes, in someone's head. That is the gap the industry is now pointed at. The difference is the architecture underneath.

In the platform today

Intelligence inside the workflow, not beside it

Joblogic's built-in AI assistant catches missed actions and flags overdue jobs before they become failures. No third-party software, no separate licence, nothing new to manage. It works where your team already works, which is why it gets used.

In development, with early access customers

An agentic operating system for service contractors

Joblogic is building toward an agentic operating system for service contractors: a system that reads the contract, the compliance and the SLA tier as live rules, and absorbs the coordination the team used to carry. Less reconciliation after the fact. Earlier sight of delivery risk, while it is in flight. Fewer gaps between the office, the field and finance.

Your Joblogic platform continues exactly as it is. The agentic operating system is new and optional.

Operations in flow. Growth in motion. How this compares, in plain terms ↓
The differences that matter

Four reasons teams choose Joblogic over Commusoft

01 · Contract work

Contract work is the product, not a plan upgrade

In Commusoft, SLA monitoring arrives when you upgrade tiers. In Joblogic, SLAs, the 52-week PPM planner and contract billing are what the platform is for. When a commercial client asks for response-time reporting at review, that capability should not depend on which plan you bought.

02 · Compliance

Compliance for the work you're moving into

Commusoft has no F-Gas module; Joblogic's is native, built with REFCOM. Commusoft imports SFG20 task lists one way; Joblogic integrates SFG20 into planned maintenance and mobile. For contractors taking on refrigeration, HVAC or fire and security work, this is a system of record versus a workaround.

03 · Subcontractors

Subcontractors managed, not just billed

Commusoft handles subcontractors through daily licences. Joblogic gives them a portal: job assignment, controlled access and documentation in one place. The moment you win work bigger than your direct labour force, this stops being a nice-to-have.

04 · Headroom

Room to grow past six staff, and past sixty

Commusoft's own copy positions it between basic apps and "complex enterprise suites", and its site screens for businesses of six or more staff. Joblogic runs operations from small teams to customers like Accent Services, who grew from £5m to £20m without changing systems.

For the evaluation committee

What the comparison means for your role

Software decisions are made by three people with three different fears. Here is the Joblogic vs Commusoft question through each pair of eyes.

Operations Director

Control that scales with complexity

The structural question: when commercial work arrives, does the platform meet it as core product or as a tier upgrade with an unpublished price?

  • SLAs, PPM and asset registers included, not gated
  • Dashboards for every role
  • Fire & security, FM and refrigeration workflows Commusoft does not position for
Finance Director

Margin you can see while you can still defend it

Margin rarely leaks from one big hole. It leaks from small disconnects between jobs, costs and billing. The platform's job is to close those gaps and show contract margin in-month.

  • Automatic job costing with P&L per job and per contract
  • Job completion connected to invoice approval in one workflow
  • Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, KashFlow, FreeAgent; no double entry
  • Clear annual terms and customers who stay, not a 12-month binding contract
Service Delivery Manager

Fewer gaps between the job and the paperwork

Missed SLAs and repeat visits rarely come from bad engineers. They come from information that did not arrive. The comparison is what the engineer sees on site and what the office sees the moment it changes.

  • Asset history, site documents and forms on the engineer's phone
  • +25% first-time fix rates (William Austin Services)
  • Missed actions and overdue jobs flagged by built-in AI before they become failures
For your sector

Where the differences bite hardest

Commusoft promotes plumbing, heating, gas, electrical and renewables. These are the sectors it does not.

HVAC and refrigeration

F-Gas obligations are not optional and not occasional. In Joblogic, F-Gas tracking and reporting is a native module built with REFCOM; Commusoft offers nothing for it. PartsArena integration puts parts data in the engineer's hand for better first-time fix.

97% customer retention in our HVAC niche

Facilities management

Multi-site contracts live and die on PPM discipline and SLA evidence. Joblogic's 52-week planner, SFG20 integration and contract-level reporting are included. Commusoft has no FM positioning and imports SFG20 one way.

+25% job logging efficiency (Parr FM)

Fire and security

Certificate-heavy, audit-exposed work where the paperwork is the product. Joblogic's form and certificate builder carries no development charges, and compliance documents follow the asset, not the filing cabinet. Not a Commusoft sector.

Five questions to ask in any FSM demo

Ask us these. Ask Commusoft these. Ask everyone these. The answers separate the platforms faster than any feature tour.

  • 1 Which plan tier does each feature I need actually live in, and what does that tier cost? Get it in writing.
  • 2 What is the contract term, and what does early exit cost?
  • 3 Where does F-Gas compliance live: in the product, or nowhere?
  • 4 Show me a commercial contract with SLAs, PPM visits and asset history end to end, not a residential job.
  • 5 What is your AI actually doing in the workflow today, and what is "coming soon" on a price list?
Questions answered

Joblogic vs Commusoft: frequently asked questions

Is Commusoft cheaper than Joblogic?
Commusoft does not publish pricing anywhere on its site, so there is no public comparison. Joblogic's pricing is published. Note that Commusoft's plans run on 12-month binding contracts with full payment due on early termination, per their own plans page, and commercial features sit in higher tiers.
Can Commusoft handle commercial maintenance contracts?
Partially. SLA monitoring and commercial contract features are gated to their higher tiers, SFG20 is import-only, there is no F-Gas module, and subcontractors are handled through daily licences rather than a management portal. Joblogic includes these as core product.
Which is better for plumbing and heating businesses?
For residential-first plumbing and heating, Commusoft is a strong option and we say so. For plumbing and heating contractors with commercial contracts, compliance obligations or subcontractors, Joblogic covers ground Commusoft does not.
Does Joblogic have a minimum number of users?
Commusoft states its product is designed for businesses with six or more staff. Joblogic has no equivalent published design minimum.
Does Commusoft do F-Gas compliance?
No F-Gas feature appears anywhere on Commusoft's site as of June 2026. Joblogic includes F-Gas natively through its REFCOM partnership, so refrigerant tracking and reporting live inside the same system as the jobs and assets they relate to.
Does Commusoft support SFG20?
As a one-way import only: PPM task lists can be uploaded into Commusoft. Joblogic integrates SFG20 into planned maintenance scheduling and the engineer's mobile app.
Is Joblogic's interface dated?
That claim comes from a competitor's blog, so we would say: judge it in a demo, not from either of us. What we will point to is function: a dashboard designer for every role, live engineer tracking, and 80% mobile adoption among our customers' engineers.
Does Joblogic work offline?
The mobile app is built for field conditions and our customers log jobs from plant rooms and basements every day. Test both apps in a real dead spot during your evaluation; it is the only answer worth trusting.
Does Joblogic have AI?
Yes, working in the product today: a built-in assistant that detects missed actions and flags overdue jobs, with no separate licensing. Commusoft's AI product (AI:den+) is listed as a "coming soon" paid add-on. Beyond that, Joblogic is building toward an agentic operating system for service contractors, in pilot with early access customers now.
What is the best alternative to Commusoft for commercial work?
For UK contractors moving into or growing commercial service and maintenance work, Joblogic is the most direct alternative: SLAs, PPM, asset registers and subcontractor management as core product, native F-Gas and SFG20, published pricing and 24/7 support.
Can I move my data from Commusoft to Joblogic?
Yes. Customers, sites, assets, job history and schedules are brought across in a structured migration with onboarding included. Request your full data export from Commusoft early in the process and we will validate it together before cutover.
How long does implementation take?
It depends on the size of your operation. Joblogic implementations are run by people with service contracting backgrounds, and most customers are live within 90 days. Larger or more complex setups take longer, because configuring the system properly is worth the time. Your scoping call gives you a real timeline, not a sales one.
What integrations does Joblogic support?
Accounting integrations include Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, KashFlow and FreeAgent. PartsArena gives engineers parts data in the field, and the REFCOM partnership underpins F-Gas compliance. Customer and subcontractor portals are standard.
Where is my data hosted and who owns it?
Joblogic is a UK company with data hosted in the UK, ISO 27001 accredited, GDPR compliant and penetration tested. Your data remains yours, with structured export available if you ever leave. Data processing terms are available for procurement review.
Does Joblogic do quoting, stock and purchase orders?
Yes. Quoting with enquiry-to-job conversion, stock control, purchase orders with supplier invoice matching, and schedules of rates are all part of the platform, alongside job costing with per-job profit and loss.
What does Joblogic's AI cost?
The built-in AI assistant is included as standard; all current AI functionality is free and ready to use, not a separate licence. Commusoft lists its AI as a future paid add-on.
