Joblogic vs Service Geeni

Service Geeni is a capable, long-established asset-and-stock system whose 2026 positioning points at forklifts, cranes and industrial equipment. Joblogic is built for building services contractors. The comparison is about which world your business lives in, and which vendor is still building for it.

The short answer

Service Geeni (a brand of KCA, founded 1986, Greater Manchester) is asset-centric service management software whose current industry pages target materials handling, lifting equipment, construction plant, industrial manufacturing and similar equipment-led sectors; building services verticals like HVAC, FM and fire and security no longer feature. Entry pricing is published at £40 per engineer per month, but the entry tier excludes purchase orders, stock, the customer portal and F-Gas, which sit in higher tiers or add-ons; the subcontractor portal is Enterprise-only and there is no SFG20 anywhere. Several of its AI features are flagged "coming soon", and its public review base is four reviews. Joblogic includes contracts, SLAs, PPM, assets, stock and native UK compliance as core product, with 24/7 support and a building-services customer base. Equipment-hire businesses should look at Service Geeni seriously; building services contractors typically choose Joblogic. And only one of the two is building toward an agentic operating system for service contractors.

Who each platform is really for

An honest comparison starts with fit, and here the two products have visibly diverged.

Choose Joblogic if you are a building services contractor

Built for UK Service Contractors: M&E, HVAC, fire and security, refrigeration and FM, and still pointed squarely at them.

  • Contracts, SLAs, 52-week PPM and asset registers as core product
  • UK compliance native: F-Gas with REFCOM, SFG20, gas certificates
  • Stock, purchase orders, customer and subcontractor portals in the licence
  • AI working inside the workflow today, with an agentic operating system in development

Service Geeni suits equipment-led service and hire businesses

Deep asset, stock and hire functionality from a 1986-heritage UK vendor, now BGF-backed.

  • Hire contract management is a genuine differentiator
  • Strong stock: pick/pack, GRN, parts returns
  • 2026 industries: forklifts, lifting, construction plant, GSE, medical devices
  • No HVAC, FM or building services industry pages on the current site

The money

What it actually costs

Service Geeni's £40 headline is honest, and thinner than it looks: the capability a contractor needs mostly lives in the price-on-application tiers above it.

Joblogic: one licence, contractor-grade from the start

Published pricing from £45 per licence per month. We don't do monthly contracts; most customers stay for years, and some for decades.

  • Job management, scheduling, quoting, invoicing
  • Contracts, SLAs and 52-week PPM planning
  • Asset registers, stock, purchase orders
  • F-Gas (REFCOM), SFG20, gas certificates: every tier
  • Customer and subcontractor portals
  • Built-in AI assistant, included as standard

The contractor capability is the entry point, not the summit.

Service Geeni: £40 at the door, POA up the stairs

Starter from £40 per engineer per month; Premium Plus and Enterprise on application.

  • Starter: asset register, service history, core jobs
  • POs, stock, timesheets, route scheduling, portal: excluded from Starter
  • Service contracts, PPM, customer portal: Premium Plus (POA)
  • F-Gas: Enterprise, or paid add-on on Premium Plus
  • Subcontractor portal, SSO, API: Enterprise (POA)
  • SFG20: not available at any tier
  • Contract terms: not published

By the time the stack matches your work, the price is a conversation.

Tier tables are where comparisons are won and lost. Ask both vendors for a written quote covering exactly the features your contracts need, at three years.

Setting the record straight

The fine print worth reading first

Service Geeni has produced vs-Joblogic battlecard material in the past (a 2024 PDF still indexed, no longer downloadable), but runs no live comparison page. So instead of rebuttals, here are the four findings that matter most from its own materials.

The pitch "Service management in one powerful platform."
The fine print True for equipment businesses, and the platform genuinely is asset-deep. But look at who it is for now: the 2026 industry pages are forklifts, lifting, construction plant, aviation GSE and medical devices. HVAC, FM and building services no longer appear. Products follow their marketing; buy the direction, not the history.
The pitch "Plans start from £40 per engineer, per month."
The fine print The Starter tier excludes purchase orders, stock, timesheets, route scheduling, the customer portal, F-Gas, API and SSO. The tiers that include them are price-on-application. The honest entry price for contractor-grade capability is a quote, not £40.
The pitch AI scheduling, estimation, forecasting, predictive maintenance.
The fine print The AI route optimisation is real and shipped (June 2025), and we credit it. Job estimation, stock forecasting, predictive maintenance and SLA optimisation are flagged "coming soon" on their own pricing page. Buy what ships; put roadmaps in the contract or leave them out of the decision.
The pitch Trusted by thousands of industry leaders.
The fine print The named logos are real and impressive (Toyota Material Handling, Doosan, PHS). The public review base is four Capterra reviews, one of which (Aug 2025) reports bugs, lagging and glitching. Four reviews proves little either way; ask for reference calls with businesses shaped like yours.

Where Service Geeni is genuinely strong

Credit where due. Service Geeni's asset, stock and hire functionality is deep: pick/pack, GRN, parts returns, hire contract management and Power BI add-ons, with ERP integrations (SAP, Dynamics, Epicor) that most SME tools cannot touch, nearly forty years of heritage, and reviewers who praise its support and willingness to tailor. For materials handling, lifting and equipment-hire businesses, it deserves a serious look. For building services contractors, its own website has quietly stopped arguing.

Where the platform is going

Everyone is adding AI. The more useful question is what it's built on.

For thirty years, field service software has organised itself around the job. The coordination between jobs, contracts, compliance and cash has been carried by people: in spreadsheets, in inboxes, in someone's head. That is the gap the industry is now pointed at. The difference is the architecture underneath.

In the platform today

Intelligence inside the workflow, not beside it

Joblogic's built-in AI assistant catches missed actions and flags overdue jobs before they become failures. No third-party software, no separate licence, nothing new to manage. It works where your team already works, which is why it gets used.

In development, with early access customers

An agentic operating system for service contractors

Joblogic is building toward an agentic operating system for service contractors: a system that reads the contract, the compliance and the SLA tier as live rules, and absorbs the coordination the team used to carry. Less reconciliation after the fact. Earlier sight of delivery risk, while it is in flight. Fewer gaps between the office, the field and finance.

Your Joblogic platform continues exactly as it is. The agentic operating system is new and optional.

Operations in flow. Growth in motion. How this compares, in plain terms ↓
The differences that matter

Four reasons building services contractors choose Joblogic

01 · Direction

A vendor still building for your sector

Service Geeni's 2026 site points at forklifts and plant; building services pages are gone. Joblogic's roadmap, AI and the agentic operating system in development are all aimed at service contractors, because that is who we are for.

02 · Tier honesty

Contractor capability at the entry, not the summit

In Service Geeni, contracts, PPM, the portal, F-Gas and the subcontractor portal climb a POA tier ladder. In Joblogic they are the platform. The compliance your contracts require should not be an Enterprise upsell.

03 · SFG20

The maintenance standard your FM clients specify

SFG20 does not exist anywhere in Service Geeni. Joblogic integrates it into planned maintenance and mobile, which is the difference between quoting an FM contract and winning one.

04 · Evidence

A public track record you can actually read

Joblogic carries a 4.4 Trustpilot rating across hundreds of reviews and named building services customers at £20m scale. Service Geeni's public base is four reviews. Ask both for references shaped like your business; only one of us can also point at a public record.

For the evaluation committee

What the comparison means for your role

Software decisions are made by three people with three different fears. Here is the Joblogic vs Service Geeni question through each pair of eyes.

Operations Director

A platform aimed at your operation

The structural question: is the vendor's centre of gravity your industry, or somewhere it migrated to?

  • 30+ building services workflows, actively developed
  • SLAs, PPM and SFG20 where FM contracts expect them
  • 24/7 support for an industry that doesn't close
Finance Director

A price you can see to the top

£40 at the door and POA above it makes three-year budgeting a negotiation. So does compliance sold by tier.

  • Published pricing from £45 per licence, operational tools included
  • Job costing with P&L per job and per contract
  • Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, KashFlow, FreeAgent in the licence
Service Delivery Manager

Compliance without the tier ladder

F-Gas on the Enterprise tier means your refrigeration engineers wait for procurement. Native means they log it today.

  • F-Gas, gas certificates and custom forms on every licence
  • +25% first-time fix rates (William Austin Services)
  • Missed actions flagged by built-in AI before they become failures
For your sector

Where the differences bite hardest

Service Geeni's current industries are equipment-led. These are the building services sectors where the gap is structural.

HVAC and refrigeration

F-Gas in Service Geeni is an Enterprise-tier feature or a paid add-on; in Joblogic it is native on every licence, built with REFCOM, with PartsArena integration for better first-time fix.

97% customer retention in our HVAC niche

Facilities management

FM clients specify SFG20; Service Geeni has no SFG20 at any tier. Joblogic integrates it into the 52-week planner and the engineer's mobile, with contract-level SLA reporting included.

+25% job logging efficiency (Parr FM)

Fire and security

Certificate-heavy, audit-exposed work needs a certificate engine and asset-attached documents, not just self-build forms. Joblogic's builder carries no development charges and the sector base is growing.

Questions answered

Joblogic vs Service Geeni: frequently asked questions

Is Service Geeni cheaper than Joblogic?
Service Geeni's Starter tier is published at £40 per engineer per month, but it excludes purchase orders, stock, timesheets, route scheduling, the customer portal and F-Gas; the tiers that include them are price-on-application. Joblogic's published pricing starts at £45 per licence per month, so compare written quotes for the features your contracts actually need.
Is Service Geeni still built for building services contractors?
Its 2026 industry pages target materials handling, lifting equipment, construction plant, industrial manufacturing, aviation ground support and medical devices. HVAC, FM and building services verticals no longer feature on the current site, though older third-party listings still mention them. Joblogic's entire platform is pointed at building services contractors.
Does Service Geeni do SFG20?
No. SFG20 does not appear anywhere on Service Geeni's site or in web results as of June 2026. Joblogic integrates SFG20 into planned maintenance and the engineer's mobile app, which FM contracts increasingly specify.
Does Service Geeni do F-Gas compliance?
Yes, but tier-gated: F-Gas is an Enterprise-tier feature or a paid add-on on Premium Plus. Joblogic includes F-Gas natively on every licence through its REFCOM partnership.
Is Service Geeni's AI real?
Partly shipped, partly promised. AI scheduling with route optimisation launched in June 2025 and is real. Job estimation, stock forecasting, predictive maintenance and SLA optimisation are flagged "coming soon" on their own pricing page. Joblogic's AI assistant is working in the product today, and Joblogic is building toward an agentic operating system for service contractors, in pilot with early access customers.
What is Service Geeni genuinely good at?
Asset-centric servicing, deep stock workflows (pick/pack, GRN, returns), hire contract management, ERP integrations and Power BI reporting, with nearly forty years of heritage behind it. For equipment-led service and hire businesses, it is a credible option and we say so.
Why does Service Geeni have so few reviews?
Its public footprint is four Capterra reviews (4.8 average; the one critical review, August 2025, reports bugs and lagging). Four reviews proves little in either direction. Ask for reference customers shaped like your business; Joblogic's public record is 300+ Trustpilot reviews at 4.4.
Does Service Geeni have a customer portal and subcontractor portal?
Both exist, both tier-gated: the customer portal from Premium Plus, the subcontractor portal on Enterprise only. Joblogic includes both in the platform.
Can I move my data from Service Geeni to Joblogic?
Yes. Assets, service history, contracts, schedules and stock records come across in a structured migration; their asset depth migrates well. We offer a managed migration, scoped case by case; check your subscription conditions for notice terms first.
What is the best alternative to Service Geeni for building services?
For UK building services contractors (HVAC, M&E, FM, fire and security, refrigeration), Joblogic is the most direct alternative: contracts, SLAs, PPM, SFG20 and F-Gas as core product, a vendor still building for the sector, and 24/7 support.
How long does implementation take?
Your scoping call gives you a real timeline in writing. Most customers are live within 90 days. Larger, more complex setups take longer, because configuring the system properly is worth the time.
Where is my data hosted and who owns it?
Joblogic is a UK company with data hosted in the UK, ISO 27001 accredited, GDPR compliant and penetration tested. Your data remains yours, with structured export available if you ever leave.
