The story in brief

Walker Gas Services provides central heating, gas, plumbing, drainage, and electrical work, offering comprehensive coverage with emergency support across Scotland. Operating in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of reactive and planned jobs, the business recognised early on that its existing job tracking and communication processes were becoming inefficient and limiting productivity.

To address this, Walker Gas Services adopted Joblogic in 2006, enabling them to manage the full job cycle from initial call logging through to completion and invoicing. As the business continued to grow, they further enhanced their operations by introducing the mobile field app in 2009, giving engineers direct access to job information while on-site.

Today, Joblogic provides both the office team and field engineers with a real-time interface, ensuring updates are shared instantly and communication flows seamlessly between teams. This has significantly reduced administrative workload, improved job visibility, and allowed the business to respond more quickly to customer needs while maintaining a high standard of service.

01
Their Challenge

Walker Gas was handling job logging, scheduling, engineer updates and invoicing using older tools and manual steps. Engineers had to travel back to the office to update records, and clerical work took time away from service delivery.

02
How Joblogic helped

Joblogic gave Walker Gas a fully connected system where engineers update jobs in real time using mobile devices. Information flows instantly between the field and office, paper forms are replaced with mobile entries, and compliance forms like gas safety certificates can be completed on the job.

03
The outcome

Since adopting Joblogic’s mobile and back-office tools, Walker Gas has reduced paperwork, minimised unnecessary journeys to the office, improved customer service and sped up processes including invoicing and certificate delivery.
